Meet MetteDressage Training through Trust and Partnership with Professional Mette Larsen

Mette Larsen is a USDF Silver Medalist and an accomplished FEI dressage competitor. Mette’s passion is dressage, especially training and competing young horses. She is as at home in the Dixon Oval at Dressage at Devon as she is at the farm building confidence with her young horses.

A life-long equestrian, Mette realized her childhood dream of owning a farm and training horses and riders. Mette has always had a love for horses, talking her parents into letting her buy her first pony at an auction for $25, tack included! The pony, Autumn, rode home in the back of their Volkswagen bus and lived in the house with them.

81Mette got her first real horse, Tigre, at age 13. He was a 3 year-old Appaloosa and as green as she was! Together, with the help of Pony Club, Mette and “Tigger” did everything. He won numerous awards throughout his long, 32 year life, earning his final award for Pony Club Senior Horse of the Year at the ripe old age of 30!

Because of her humble start with horses, Mette never takes a day of training for granted and has great compassion for horses and riders working toward their dreams with their own horses.
